Fostering is one of the most powerful ways you can support The Haley Graves Foundation. By opening your home to a dog or cat in need, you’re giving them the love, structure, and care they need to thrive while they wait for adoption.

Whether you can foster for a few days or a few months — every foster home saves a life.

What is a Board of Directors?

The Board of Directors acts as the governing authority for The Haley Graves Foundation, a 501(c)3 animal welfare organization. The board is responsible for overseeing the organization’s operations and maintaining the organization’s commitment to its mission. This involves establishing The Haley Grave's Foundation's strategic direction, ensuring its compliance with all applicable legal requirements, and keeping the organization financially healthy. Board members are expected to take a holistic view of the organization, have an active role in ensuring the wellness of the organization, participate in fundraising activities, and act as ambassadors of The Haley Gaves Foundation in the community.

Responsibilities

Attendance and active participation in monthly board meetings.
Follow and abide by the By Laws of The Haley Graves Foundation
Understand the goals and mission of THGF and agree to work toward these goals and represent this mission in contact with the community on behalf of the organization.
Make a serious commitment to participate actively in committee volunteer roles and work.
Stay informed about organizational matters, prepare well for meetings, and review and comment on minutes and reports.
Participate in fundraising for the organization, including attendance at major fundraisers. Our minimum board gift is $1000 (this can be fundraised or contributed directly from you.)

Who We Are Looking For

The Haley Graves Foundation Board of Directors is made up of people passionate about animal welfare with a variety of skill sets and experience. We are open to new members with extensive, limited, or no experience on nonprofit boards.

Commitment

We hope that board members will stay at least 3 years, and commitments are evaluated on an individual basis. Board members typically spend 2-4 hours per month specifically related to board work. Additional volunteer hours vary based on number and type of other roles.
