Open Your Home. Change a Life.

Give a rescue pet a safe place to heal, grow, and find their forever home.

Apply to Foster

Whether you can foster for a few days or a few months — every foster home saves a life.

You don't have to adopt to make a life-changing difference! Fostering gives rescued animals a safe, loving place to land while they wait for their forever families.

At The Haley Graves Foundation, foster families are at the heart of everything we do.

By opening your home, you're giving a dog in need the love, structure, and care they need to thrive while they wait for adoption.

Whether you're an experienced foster or considering it for the first time, you can make an incredible difference!

What Does fostering Involve?

As a foster, you'll provide a temporary home where a rescued animal can feel safe, loved, and cared for while waiting for adoption.

Our foster families play an essential role in helping animals adjust to home life, learn routines, and show their unique personalities. You'll provide everyday care, companionship, and a little patience as your foster settles in.

THGF provides food, supplies, and veterinary care, so you can focus on giving your foster the love and attention they deserve.

Ready to Make a Difference?

You don't need to be an expert to make an impact. If you're interested in fostering, complete our application to get started!

Can I be a Foster?

You don't need to be an experienced foster parent to make a difference! We're looking for caring individuals and families who can provide a safe, loving environment for animals while they wait for their forever homes.

To help ensure the safety and well-being of our foster dogs, we ask that foster homes meet a few basic requirements:

A Safe, Indoor Home

All foster dogs must live indoors as part of the family. We do not place dogs in homes where they will be kept outdoors or primarily live outside.

Healthy, Well-Cared-For Pets

If you already have pets in your home, they must be:

  • Up-to-date on vaccinations
  • Spayed or neutered
  • Receiving regular heartworm prevention

Fencing Considerations

Some dogs may require a physical fence based on their individual needs, behavior, or history. We'll communicate any specific fencing requirements before placing a dog in your home. Underground or invisible fencing is considered on a case-by-case basis.

Other Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at info@thehaleygravesfoundation.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Most foster stays last 2 - 6 weeks.

Depending on the age and health of the animal, some stays may be a little longer.   Occasionally, THGF will have an animal that may need longer ongoing palliative care until they are ready for adoption.

Our fosters are provided everything - dog food, bedding, collar & leash, toys & treats - plus experienced support from our dedicated team!

Yes, the animals in your care get wellness and sick visits as needed. All animals will get their vaccinations at a clinic.  Should an emergency arise, after you contact the appropriate person and it is agreed that the situation is an emergency, you will be given permission to visit one of our partner vets.  All medication is provided at no expense to you.

With advance notice, THGF will find an appropriate (temporary or permanent as needed) foster home from our existing foster homes.

Can't Foster Right Now? You Can Still Make a Difference!

Opening your home isn't the only way to help save lives! From volunteering at events and transporting animals to sharing your time and talents behind the scenes, there are plenty of ways to support our rescue efforts. Every helping hand makes a difference, and we'd love to have you on our team!
